About the Program

Drama (6th-8th grade): Students will learn the basics of drama; improvisation, stage movement, monologues, puppetry, reader’s theater, skits, and more. Classes are divided into grade levels.

Drama – Audition (7th-8th grade): Students will go deeper in all theater skills. Advanced will perform in the two mainstage shows and write their own show; it requires after school rehearsals. Intermediate will perform during their class period. Email Mrs. Jordan at ejordan@sjusd.org for more audition information. The teacher will place students in appropriate classes based on ability.

Elizabeth Jordan

Instructor - Drama

Mrs. Elizabeth Jordan has been teaching at Hoover for the past 25 years. A graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in Social Sciences/Child Development, she went on to get her multiple subjects teaching credential, then her Single Subject supplement in English. After that she received her master’s degree in Instructional Technology which also allowed her to get another Single Subject supplement in Computer Concepts and Applications. Theatre has always been a passion and she spent several years acting, directing and performing at the now-defunct Opry House in Almaden. Additionally, she performs, when time permits in various community theatre shows.

Personally, she lives with her husband, Sean, and one of her three sons, Connor, and one adorable, but irritating small dog, Riley. Hobbies include baking, reading, crocheting, and attending theatre productions.

She loves teaching at Hoover, thinks Hoover kids are the best, and is really looking forward to the upcoming year.
