Instructor - Orchastra
My name is Rori Launspach and after teaching band for 7 years, I am thrilled to now be Hoover's orchestra teacher. This is now my 4th year of teaching orchestra at Hoover.
I studied violin in my hometown at UC Santa Cruz and after graduating, continued to pursue music education. In 2010, I received my teaching credential from San Jose State University including student teaching with the Hoover orchestras! I am passionate about working with young people and feel lucky to be part of their musical journey.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially outdoors. We love to go camping, skiing, hiking, fishing, mountain biking, paddle boarding and the list goes on. When I'm feeling extra adventurous, I like to go salsa dancing. Students will find that I listen to a variety of different music anywhere from classical to Pop. Favorite artists include The Beatles, Fall Out Boy, B.O.B, Taylor Swift, Hozier, The Young Dubliners and my favorite since High School - Dropkick Murphys.
I enjoy building relationships with students and keeping in touch with them over the years. I'm always in awe of Hawk talent and dedication, and I look forward to seeing what we accomplish this year!
